Your extra kick.
La Dolce Vita ‘59.

It will always be there when you need it. A small reverse movement in pedaling and you're done. We chose the Sturmey Archer gearbox because we wanted performance and elegance. Everything is integrated into the hub. We chose for you the convenience of a frame with city geometry and the typical dedication of the 100% Made in Italy workmanship.
We believe in a future that speaks of timeless beauty, La Dolce Vita '59 is our manifesto.

Change gear when needed.

We chose the Sturmey Archer S2 gearbox because it integrates two gears into the hub. A small reverse movement in pedaling will suffice to change gear. You’ll go faster on the plains and have a softer ride on the small climbs, because your '59 will support you without being noticed. No leverage or cables. You pedal, it gives you an extra kick, in every sense.

INTEGRATED GEARBOX.

Elegant and invisible. It's our gearbox.

117 years of mechanical precision. It was 1902 when the Sturmey Archer patented the first gearbox fully integrated into the hub. Perfect in every aspect, it will never stop supporting you on every ride. A small reverse movement in pedaling will suffice to change gear.

Rain, dust, mud: nobody stops it.

The planetary gears of the Sturmey Archer S2 gearbox are perfectly insulated from the outside through a patented sealing gasket system. Pedal as long as you want and in any condition!

Always snappy, even when stopped.

The planetary gear mechanism allows you to change gear even when the bike is stationary. A traditional gearbox can’t do it, because the chain can move from one sprocket to another only if you are pedaling. Agile and snappy every time a traffic light will be green.

On bike even on a romantic date.

In a traditional gearbox the chain moves by changing the gear, in the Sturmey Archer S2 the chain remains fixed and the selection of the gears takes place in the hub. Your pants will always be saved from grease.

THE COLOR.

A timeless elegance of a timeless style.

12 different shades to create 6 combinations unique in the world and a timeless style. We chose full, enchanting, mellow, intense colours, but each combination of them is infinitely versatile. You can be elegant, sporty, casual, you can be anything you want because your '59 has outfits with a chameleonic elegance.

Massimo, painter. Forty years of experience.

THE ART OF HANDMADE.

La Dolce Vita never compromise. We use the historical technique of painting masks. No stickers. The hands of our craftsmen apply the masks, then create the magic of color with the airbrush.
Dedication, patience and love, find them all on your ‘59.

A GRAPHICS THAT LOOKS BACK INTO THE PAST. OPS! TO THE FUTURE.

In 1959 Italy is at the height of the economic boom, the GDP grows by 7% and people look to the future without looking back. We chose an arrow, highlighted in a double graphic game, to represent this wild race towards life, beauty and fun of an Italy ready to devour the world.

There’s room for everything.

  DEDICATION AND PASSION.

Our minds. Their hands.

Aldo welds frames since 1968. Luigi has been at his side since 1982. As brothers at work and in private. We chose them to hand-weld the frame of your '59. Precision is their watchword. Matilde is their main promoter, she takes care of every order. An inseparable trio, just like the welds they put in place.

Luigi, framework. Forty years of experience.

PERFECT FUSION.

We don’t use TIG welding because it directly melts the tubes of the frame weakening them. We use microfused welded junctions with the braze welding method. The alloy penetrates by atomic diffusion in the intergranular structure of the pipes, creating a perfect fusion to dampen the vibrations. You’ll be free to go wherever you want.

Silvano, engraver. Forty years of experience.

OUR SIGNATURE.

Silvano, 43 years of etchings. His hands are his caliber. We entrust him with the task of engraving on your '59 our warranty seal: the Scatto Italian logo on the fork head. It's not just one frame, it's a Scatto Italiano frame.

MANUAL LACING.

Andrea grew up in the lab of his father Roberto, who inherited his passion for bicycles from his father Augusto. Andrea is responsible of hand lace the wheels of your '58. Nobody hand-lace anymore, but we want to do it. No machinery, just a lot of passion and a lot of love, just like back in date.

GPS ANTITHEFT TRACKER.

Always on your watch.

Keeping your bike safe is easy with Sherlock. Connected to your phone via an app, it geolocates your '59 at any time and alerts you immediately at every movement. A unique tracking code allows law enforcement to locate and find it. You'll always know where it is.
