“The One 356” celebrates the timeless beauty of the extremely rare 1954 Porsche 356 1500 Speedster pre-series example.

Produced in only 200 examples worldwide, the one that was presented in Borgo Machetto, May 27 and 28, is the 48th pre-series, one of the oldest surviving Speedsters in the world, thanks to the passion of its owner, Massimo Bettinsoli, and the “care” of Brescia Classic Cars. This particular example was chosen because it represents the key concept of “The One” Scatto Italiano custom-building service: the uniqueness of each creation.

The One 356 is, in fact, inspired by this Speedster’s inherent feeling of freedom. The Speedster was born in September 1954 from an idea of Max Hoffman, the Porsche importer for North America. It was a huge success, especially in Florida and California. What struck about this car, in addition to its breathtaking bodywork, was the intuition that had inspired Hoffman: the desire of the American market for a nimble, light car that could transmit a great sense of freedom.”
